Through the Best Start In Life initiative the Victoria Government is increasing funding for both 3 and 4 year old kinder programs. OCK will be participating in free kinder for 2023, however we are currently working out what that looks like for us. Please be patient, we will update this site when we have the information.
7.5 hours per week:
$325 per term + Other charges (see below)
15 hours per week:
$600 per term + Other charges (see below)
$100 - Enrolment Acceptance (Kindergarten Fee Deposit):
This fee is to secure a place at the kindergarten and is payable by all families.
The Department of Education and Training (DET) provides funding for each child enrolled and attending kindergarten in the two years before school as a contribution toward the costs of providing the program. This is called “Standard kindergarten per capita” funding. Services meet the balance of costs through charging fees and fundraising activities.
The cost of running our fully inclusive 4-year-old program is higher than the funding provided, so families are charged fees each term.
There are various fee subsidy programs available for qualifying families. If you believe you qualify for any of the Department of Education Fee subsidy programs including early start kindergarten and kindergarten fee subsidy (see below), please contact the enrolments officer on enrolments@ormondkinder.com.au.
The Kindergarten Fee Subsidy is provided by DET and enables eligible children to attend kindergarten free of charge They will not be required to make any fee payments but still pay the Enrolment Acceptance (Kindergarten Fee Deposit) charge. Families eligible for the Kindergarten Fee Subsidy are not required to pay the participation levy.
Your child is eligible for the kindergarten fee subsidy:
if your child identifies as Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander
if your child is identified on their birth certificate as being a multiple birth child (triplets or more).
a Commonwealth Health Care Card
a Commonwealth Pensioner Concession Card
a Department of Veterans Affairs Gold Card or White Card
Refugee or Asylum Seeker visa (200-204, 786 or 866) or a bridging visas for Refugee or Asylum Seeker visas
Please provide a copy of your supporting documentation (front and back of any cards) to the enrolments officer (enrolments@ormondkinder.com.au ). Families are eligible for the Kindergarten Fee Subsidy for the full term in which their concession is valid.
These grants provide a free or low-cost kindergarten program for up to 15 hours in the 2 years prior to starting school (early start kindergarten (ESK) for 3-year-old and the extension grant for 4-year-old kinder) for children:
who are not eligible for the Kindergarten Fee Subsidy
who participated in Access to Early Learning in the previous year or are from a refugee or asylum seeker background, or Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander, or known to child protection.
A child is not required to access ESK in the previous year to access the ESK extension grant.
