Hola! We offer Spanish as an integrated part of our program.
Education experts have found that there are many benefits to starting to learn additional languages at a young age. This includes helping your child to think, explore, problem solve and support their pre-reading and pre-writing learning.
Learning in another language will give your child a richer understanding of how languages work. If your child already speaks the language being delivered, it can strengthen their self-esteem and cultural identity.
By encouraging diverse language skills in our kindergartens, we can build stronger local communities and prepare children for a more globalised and connected world.

Education experts have found that there are many benefits to children learning in another language, such as:
increasing pre-reading and pre-writing skills
helping children to think, explore and problem solve
bolstering self-esteem and wellbeing
strengthening cultural identity
fostering deeper connections with different cultures and languages.
We are very fortunate to have the warm and engaging Pilar to deliver our Spanish language program to all groups at OCK.
Spanish is taught in a variety of ways.
It is taught through song and dance introducing key vocabulary as well as encouraging movement movement, memory, and engagement through music.
It is taught through stories and Pilar uses her special puppet "Caracol" who came to Australia with Pilar when she migrated as a child.
Pilar draws inspiration from the children's own play and interests. Whether they're building, pretending, or exploring, she responds in the moment with relevant Spanish words and phrases—helping them connect new language to what they're curious about right now. This kind of in-the-moment learning is powerful, as it grounds new vocabulary in real experiences.
